The kick-off meeting of the ITN project DigitAlgaesation will be held in Padova on 15 th October 2021.
DigitAlgaesation is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and is coordinated by prof. Fabrizio Bezzo (Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Padova). The project aims at defining a digitalisation approach to optimising control and operation of microalgae cultivation processes.
DigitAlgaesation will train 15 early-stage researchers in all aspects of microalgae technological innovation to pave the way towards a knowledge-based breakthrough in monitoring methods and instrumentation, biological modelling and simulation, and automatic control. The development and implementation of digital technologies will provide a major step forward to microalgae-based cultivation processes as a sustainable source for food, feed, chemicals, and fuels.
